Chicken Parmesan This is another one of my favorites and it is soooo easy to make! The following recipe will serve three to four people. Needed: * Four chicken breasts * 24 ounce jar of tomato spaghetti sauce (I like the Barilla Tomato and Basil spaghetti sauce, this one is kosher) * Thyme * Blackstrap molasses * Maple syrup * Lawry's seasoning salt * One package of grated Mozzarella cheese (I use Sargento cheese because there are no pork in their cheese, unless it is on the label) 1) Fill a pot that is large enough to hold the four chicken breast with water. 2) Sprinkle some thyme in the water. I usually just use enough thyme to cover the surface of the water. 3) Turn the burner on to high and bring the water to a boil. 4) Turn the oven on to 350 degrees to preheat the oven. 5) While you are waiting for the water to boil, clean the chicken. I remove all the fat from the four chicken breasts. 6) When the water comes to a boil drop the chicken in the boiling water and let the chicken boil for 3 to 4 minutes. 7) While the chicken is boiling prepare the sauce. 8) Empty the 24 jar of tomato sauce into a bowl. 9) Add a 3/4 teaspoon of blackstrap molasses. 10) Add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. 11) Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of Lawry's seasoning salt. 12) Remove the chicken and I like to butterfly the chicken. 13) Place the chicken in an 8x8 dish. 14) Pour the prepared sauce over them. 15) Cover the dish with aluminum foil, unwaxed side over the food. 16) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 and 1/2 hours. 17) As soon as you remove the dish from the oven, uncover it and sprinkle the cheese all over the top of the sauce, cover and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes. 18) Serve with whatever you want to add with the meal. This is a delicious, nutritious meal that is very simple to make. Enjoy and let me know how you like it. Challen |
