  Sour Dough Story Date: 05/09/2009  

I was associated with Dr. Reams over 10 years. I spent time with him in his classes in Blue Ridge, in his office at his retreat in Georgia, walking with him through his retreat in Georgia, in his classes at Roanoke, and traveled with him for as much as three days at a time. During a three day period with him I actually scribed everything for the people he saw as to what was wrong with them and as to what they should do in order to improve their health. He would analyze a set of numbers every 15 minutes for 8 hours per day for three days. I think that this is where I actually learned the most.

Dr. Reams would often tell small stories in order to illustrate a point or to explain how the body or how the RBTI worked.

It is really impossible to explain how the body actually works to someone that does not understand.

Many times when a student would ask Dr. Reams a question in regards to the body or the student would make a statement as to how he/she thought the body worked the only thing that Dr. Reams would say is: "The body does not work that way!" He usually did not explain any further because he knew it was pointless to explain it because the person did not understand the body let alone the RBTI and it would just be a waste of breath.

One of the stories that Dr. Reams used in order to drive home a point of the RBTI is:

                                     "The Sourdough Story"

No one should eat sourdough bread other than a logroller and if he eats sourdough bread very much he will not be able to roll logs very long!

This is as short of a story as could possibly be. Let's break this story down and explain what it means and some of the rules that are involved.

1) Sourdough bread is very hard to digest.

2) In order to digest it you need a very strong digestive enzyme to break it down and you need a lot of oxygen.

3) Only a logroller has these two requirements because logrolling is very strenuous. In order to be a logroller the person must be in very good shape and it requires a great deal of physical exertion therefore, much oxygen.

Rule: The higher the mineral, energy, level is the less strict a person needs to be with the rules.

                                             OR

Rule: The lower the mineral, energy, level is the more strict a person must be with the rules.

Rule: If a person's mineral, energy, level is high enough he/she is virtually able to eat anything.

However, usually every rule has a caveat and in the last rule the caveat is that if you continue to break the rule you will lose energy and then no longer will you be in the robust health that is desirable.

The "Sourdough Story" is a prime illustration of these rules. All these rules of the RBTI are illustrated in this one short story.

Now we will apply the above to the "no" list of foods that Dr. Reams stated and I have listed in my book: "The Secret ...is in the Diet". If your energy is high enough and you eat a food on the "no" list most will not notice any problem but if he/she continues to eat the no food there will be a constant loss of energy and someday there will be a problem. 

Rule: The process of aging or growing old is the simple fact that the body does not have a high enough energy to replace the cells as they wear out and die.

An interesting thing in regards to the "no" list of foods is the fact that each food on the "no" list will cause a loss of energy when it is eaten but the loss of energy that occurs will depend on the food that is eaten, the energy level of the person eating it, the gender of the person eating it, the age of the person eating it and etc. There are many variables! Each food on the "no" list causes a different degree of an energy loss.

One more point that I find fascinating! Eating the "no" food causes a loss of energy and the health of the individual is diminished but what I find interesting is the fact that the mental thoughts change. Even the ability of a person to make good decisions is altered by the diet.

Rule: Even saints may be possessed by demons if they eat the "unclean", "no" foods.

Think about this last rule as you eat your next piece of chocolate or white potato. What do you think is happening when your children are defiant or you or your spouse is uncooperative or we make poor choices in our lives. How about when you disagree with someone and resort to attacking their character instead of discussing the issues in question as adults should. We all may claim ignorance when we do not know but once we know the truth something changes.

 Rule: We are no bigger than the person we are arguing with.
